Southend on Sea
London Southend Airport recently welcomed its millionth passenger since the opening of its new terminal (March 2012). New facilities by owners Stobart Group since acquiring the airport in 2008 also include a train station on the London Liverpool Street (just 53 minutes into the heart of the City), an Air Traffic Control Tower, Holiday Inn Hotel, runway extension and radar. To support the airport’s rapid growth, work on an extension to the terminal is now underway and is scheduled to open in phases and complete by Christmas 2013 - the new Arrivals area and five additional stands have recently become operational.
London Southend Airport is pleased to be able to play a supporting role in bringing back the annual airshow to the town. The Southend Airshow is a hugely popular attraction, drawing large groups of visitors to our corner of Essex over many years. We are very happy to assist in what ways we are able alongside our day to day operations in getting this much loved event flying once again.
